SAIS at GITEX AFRICA Morocco
GITEX AFRICA in Marrakech provided a valuable platform for SAIS-supported ventures to engage with investors and partners active in African agri-climate innovation.
NoorNation, an Egyptian venture developing solar-powered energy and water solutions, won the AgriTech & Sustainability category of the Supernova Challenge, securing the $10,000 grand prize. The win reflects both the strength of their technology and the successful support through the SAIS Investment Readiness Programme.
Eight other ventures from the programme participated alongside NoorNation: AquaDeep‘s AI-driven aquaculture monitoring from Tunisia, Biolife Tech‘s digital market access tools for Beninese farmers, eMaisha Pay‘s embedded finance solutions for Ugandan agro-traders, Fanaka Technologies‘ mobile-first platform providing financial literacy and micro-loans for MSMEs in Zambia, Nintai Aquaculture/Prawns Alive‘s tech-enabled shrimp farming in Kenya, Nuru Solutions‘ data intelligence for agricultural finance, OBENS‘ traceability systems for Moroccan natural ingredient supply chains, and TDX‘s digital infrastructure for agricultural trade in Ghana.
For ventures building solutions to address food security and climate adaptation across the continent, access to appropriate capital at the right time is critical. Events like GITEX AFRICA create the conditions for those connections to happen, and the SAIS programme ensures founders are prepared to engage effectively.
We look forward to seeing where these conversations lead.
